FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Have you ever seen the movie “Passion of the Christ?” I know it is Hollywood folks but something in that movie stirred my heart and made me cry. It was the part where Jesus was flogged, beaten, and tortured by his persecutors. I sat there watching this and it dawned on me that Jesus was being flogged, beaten, and tortured on my account. I started to cry because I am not worthy that Jesus was tortured, nailed to a cross and died on my account, for my sins he endured this awful treatment.

My pastor in church today talked about this and I don’t understand why a God would love me so much that He would give His only begotten son for me to bear all my sins and die for me. I am not worthy of this and neither are you. Why did He do it? He did it because He loves us. Why does He love us? That question, I can’t answer. Why didn’t He destroy the whole human race and start over again? He chose not to.

He loves His people Israel and He loves the gentiles that were far from Him. But He made us close to Him and loved us just the same way He loves Israel. He did it to make Israel jealous. Thank God because if it weren’t for Israel, where would the gentiles be today? Thank Paul for his ministry that the Lord gave Him and I kiss the feet of the one who brings good news.

We are now called saints and God’s children. Can you imagine that? People so unworthy and not seeking after God but God sought after us with an everlasting love. I am so grateful that in my darkest trials and tribulations that God saw fit to drag me out of the rubbish and save my wretched soul.

I was going through life, doing what I always did, searching for the next high, the next fix that could take me out of this awful and unfulfilling life I led. But God wanted something more for me. I have a daughter who needs saving. I had a father who needed saving, I have other family members and friends who need saving and God needs my prayers for these people. That is why I’m here now and I want to tell you that that is enough. It gave me the greatest pleasure that God would use me to save my father’s soul before he died and it gives me the greatest pleasure to pray for an unsaved child.

When I get down on my knees I ask God why didn’t He just let me ode out there when I was chasing my next fix and the answer is simple my friends. We need to pray for the lost souls on this earth. God is waiting His return because He wants no man to perish and it is up to us as His disciples to carry the gospel to the lost world. That is why we are here and yes, it is enough.

Prayer is our most valuable resource. People out there need our prayers, our compassion, and our mercy. No matter what their position in life or their circumstances, they need prayer and petition on our behalf. We are here to serve a loving God and to spread His gracious gospel and if that isn’t enough, then we too are lost.
